Winter Camp.

Winter Camp was one of the bigger campouts that Troop 861 offered Scouts every year.  The outing was used to work on basic Scout skills (and skill awards), merit badges, and Klondike Derby training.  Patrols competed in the same events that they would the following month at the Klondike Derby, this preparation always paid off, as Troop 861 patrols always performed very well at the district winter competition.  Some of the merit badges offered to Scouts during Winter Camp were; Communications, First Aid, Surveying, Leatherwork, Basketry, Graphic Arts, and more.

Many sites have been used for Winter Camp throughout the years including; Camp Rokilio, the Kettle Moraine Youth Camp, and Bear Paw Scout Camp. Sledding was a common site during the outing, some Scouts used their free time to go cross country skiing.
